This page contains answers to these common FAQ
Where is Maranatha?
Maranatha Conference Center
4759 Lake Harbor Rd
Muskegon, MI 49441 United States + Google Map
Website: http://www.vacationwithpurpose.org/
How do I get there?
If you are out of state and too far to drive, you will likely fly into either Muskegon County Airport or Gerald R. Ford Airport in Grand Rapids. While Muskegon is closer (just a few minutes away), there are fewer flight times and participants have sometimes found flights landing very close to the 12 noon Sunday start time for The Journey. Grand Rapids is about a 45-55 minute drive to Maranatha.
It is a very rare event in which we are not able to provide a shuttle between the airport and Maranatha. However, there are taxi and Uber/Lyft options available to the conference location.
What is the Process of Purchasing Tickets and Registration?
Typically, the order is as follows:
Fill out The Journey Registration Form.
After you have completed the registration and purchased your tickets, you will receive an email with the following information: counselor/therapist release forms, payment plans (if you paid only a deposit), homework to complete before The Journey, schedules, and purchasing additional lodging/meals or a single room at Maranatha.
May I set up a payment plan?
Yes, we have an option where you may make 5 equal payments of $340 for a total of $1700.
Even if you do not see a deposit option in the event ticket options, you may inquire about a unique payment plan for you.
Are there scholarships available?
Yes. Although scholarships are limited, we do provide scholarship help to several people each Journey. To request a scholarship, please text 269.389.9491 to have the Scholarship Request Form be sent to you.
What does The Journey at Maranatha include?
The Journey at Maranatha is All-Inclusive.
The cost of the ticket includes the price of meals and lodging for the event between the start time and ending time (approx. 12:00pm on Sunday and checkout the following Friday). If there is a need for additional lodging or meals, see below in the Meals & Accommodations section for more information.
Meals & Accomodations
May I request special dietary considerations?
Meals are provided by the Maranatha Bible Conference staff and requests may be submitted on The Journey Registration Form. Options include paleo, vegetarian, diabetic, and food allergies among others. If you don’t see your option, click the “Other” button and enter your specific needs.
Where are meals served?
They are served in the cafeteria of the Maranatha Bible Conference Center.
The Journey tickets include all the costs of meals and lodging between lunch (12:00 pm) on Sunday and check-out on Friday. Additional nights of lodging or meals and single rooms are not included in The Journey Begins or Continues ticket.
May I request a roommate?
You may request a roommate on The Journey Registration Form.
May I request a single room or get additional meals or lodging at The Journey at Maranatha?
Yes. Single rooms are an additional $150 for the week. Additional nights of lodging can be purchased for $60 per person for the Saturday night before.
Amenities & What to Bring
What should I bring?
Common items that participants bring are pen or pencil, a writing journal, a Bible, devotional and at least one childhood picture (The Journey Continues participants may want to bring a collection of pictures). At The Journey at Maranatha, there is a celebration at the end. Some people enjoy dressing up for that event, so you may bring something a little fancier. Otherwise, we recommend that you dress comfortably as much of your time is spent seated in either teaching sessions or in a small group setting. You will want to be as comfortable as possible.
What is provided?
Conference materials, including a Journey guide.
Will I need to walk anywhere?
Yes, although not a tremendous distance. At Maranatha, you will need to walk between your room and the meeting rooms. If you require additional help to safely and comfortably get to your destinations, please let us know.
What amenities are available at The Journey at Maranatha?
You may view the Accommodations page on the Maranatha website. This page is for informational purposes only (OHM will coordinate your lodging preferences with the Maranatha staff).
Also, you may view some of the recreational activities on the Maranatha website, although we do not utilize the 45-foot zip line, tubing or sledding options!
There are no restaurants or stores within walking distance.
The use of alcohol, drugs, and tobacco is prohibited on conference grounds. Guests are not permitted to bring pets. Use of motorcycles, motorized scooters, and all-terrain vehicles is prohibited on conference grounds as well as the beach.
